Working at the laboratory of "Integrative biology of marine organisms" Arago in Banyuls-sur-mer he became the third president of National museum of natural history in Paris (2009-2015). Member of numerous scientific commettees he will give a talk in english about : 

The lack of environmental tranquillity that we are all concerned about: why should we invest into the future? What is the future made of? Indeed, our constant conflicts about resources on Earth that humanity need desperatly are increasing:  habitat and biodiversity destruction, general pollution, anarchic dispersal of species, exessive exploitation of resources, climate influence on evolution... How then, whithout being catastrofists, can we reharminise the relationship between humans and Nature? Did we reach some limits? Are we too many on this panet? How can we go towards sobriety? How can we recognise that we are inside of the "System Earth" and not aside?
